RadioDecayPP.R Radioactive Decay Simulation by D Noonan, from Sinclair User 8 (Nov.1982) start with 1060 0This program simulates the random decay of atoms. When run, it displays 256 atoms and abar chart; as one atom decays, anew one is born. The bar chart keeps a record of the number of mother and daughter atoms. Everydecay is also marked by a burst of sound. The rate should slow if the decay is random. Following the decay of the final atom you are asked to guess the half-life of the atom.Your standing as a nuclear scientist is then analysed and you are told how close you were to the answer. 32499~ 7:7: C0,1;5;0;"RADIOACTIVE DECAY SIMULATION" ( y=3 2*x=118:y,x;3;"":x < y=20 F*x=118:y,x;3;"":x P x=1 Z*y=419:y,x;3;"":y d x=18 n*y=419:y,x;3;"":y xx=217 y=419 y,x;7;1;"#" y x m(100d) a=0 D0:175,144:0,-129:64@,0 1y=419:y,23;1;"":y Ҧ2,1;2;"TIME";3,21;1;"#";3,25;2;"|";21,0;6;0;"Press G to see a graph of decay" mother=256 daughter=0 time=0 r=(4*) x=2+(r+15)*:There is an error here, as if r>0 characters will sometimes be displayed outside the box to the right, as the RH limit is 17.
